For me this was kind of a hard one to review. I hate diet stuff. Diet drinks, diet foods, diet anything. I want all the sugar and bad stuff you can pump into what I consume because damn it, it just makes it taste better. Sure when I kick the bucket (which will probably be sooner than later with all the damn caffeine I consume) my body won’t need any embalming, but I’m going to die knowing I enjoyed life. So there we have my main problem with Pink. Now as Diet energy drinks (or healthy energy drinks) go, Pink is the best I have tried…hands down, no question. Pink carries a very RB like flavor with a hint of cotton candy, or maybe bubble gum…not sure, but it’s good and I wish I could taste it more. The problem comes with what I am guessing is the sweetener, Sucralose. I get that sugar free strange taste and after taste that I have come to despise so much. Sure it’s sweet, but it also tastes artificial and a bit strange. Because of this it really isn’t fair to compare it fully to other non diet energy drink….it really needs to be set apart into an actual Diet category, and that’s what I’m going to do…yes, Pink will be the first in a new series that I can HOPEFULLY pawn off onto on of the other reviewers so that I may continue flooding my body with straight sugar and calories. So from here on out this review is based on DIET DRINK STANDARDS….you have been warned.
So now what do I think about Pink? Definitely drinkable…..it really is one of the better diet drinks I have tried. Would I drink it again? Probably not…but I would recommend it to friends that are trying to cut calories. With the average carbs in most energy drinks’ sitting at about 30g Pink comes in rather nicely at just 2g which is big plus for you Atkins folks out there.
And how about the energy? Pretty decent…..Not overly strong, but definitely gives you a nice wake up kick. Pink didn’t make me wired, or give me the jitters, but I did feel the effects in my alertness. For most of the folks out there Pink will surely give the kick you need to get going in the morning.
Overall Pink sits pretty well which is a good thing because there aren’t many diet energy drinks out there so it’s nice to have quality stuff to choose from. If you are counting carbs or calories and need a little kick of energy, give Pink a shot…it’s worth taking a chance on for sure. Oh, and did I mention that it is actually pink? Sure beats the flat beer yellow of most other drinks.
